Prince Charles walking Meghan Markle down the aisle was one of the memorable moments from the Royal Wedding. Now almost 6 months later, Prince Harry is sharing details about asking his dad to do the honor. Harry discussed it all in a BBC documentary called Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70. Keep reading for more details.
Harry told the BBC that he approached his father, Prince Charles, after getting the news that Meghan’s dad Thomas Markle wouldn’t make the wedding. "I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming and he immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you,’ “ the newlywed said.
It didn’t surprise Harry that his dad obliged. “He’s our father and so of course he’s gonna be there for us.”
During the actual moment, TV cameras caught Harry say “thank you, Pa” as Charles handed Meghan over to him. In the documentary, the 34-year-old explained, “I was very grateful for him to be able to do that.”
