Royal Visit! Prince William Meets Victims & First Responders Of Manchester Terror Attack
Prince William visited Manchester today to meet with those affected by the deadly suicide bombing that took place at an Ariana Grande concert on May 22. The Duke spoke with first responders, members of the community, and those injured hurt by the horrific attack, which left 22 dead and over 100 injured, mostly children. Will’s grandmother, The Queen, previously visited Manchester on May 25. The Kensington Palace announced Will wanted to visit the city “to acknowledge and thank the people of Manchester for their strength, decency, and kindness.”
“Manchester’s strength and togetherness is an example to the world. My thoughts are with all those affected,” Will wrote in the Book of Condolence at Manchester Cathedral.
At the Cathedral, Prince William met with “members of the community who showed extraordinary acts of kindness following the attack,” the Kensington Palace tweeted.
These members included local taxi drivers, restaurant owners, and representatives from Northern Rail, the British Red Cross, and St. John’s Ambulance.

Will also visited the Manchester Police Headquarters, where he spoke with first responders and thanked them for their “incredible efforts.”
The Duke also stopped by the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital to privately meet with families affected by the attacks.
As the city continues to recover from the tragedy, Ariana is returning for a charity concert this weekend, which will feature performances by Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Bieber. All proceeds will go towards the Red Cross’ Manchester Emergency Fund.
