Just hours after the premiere of the new season of The Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay was spotted making her way to Jimmy Kimmel Live looking oh-so-casual chic. (The girl can even make sweats look good) While there, the Dallas lawyer, who recently announced that she’s engaged, dished about the status of her relationship and revealed why she spilled the beans about her engagement so soon.
“We joke and say this is a season of firsts,” Rachel, who is the first African-American lead in the Bachelor franchise’s history, said when asked about her engagement announcement. "I think they were like, ‘You’re so excited. You’re glowing. Just tell them.’”
And when Jimmy asked Rach when she last saw her fiancé, Rachel responded, “At the proposal — during that time. We had a couple of days together, and then we went our separate ways.”

While the show premiered on Monday, the newly engaged couple only actually finished filming the show about 10 days ago.
“You haven’t had a chance to reconnect and then break up and then be on the cover of Us Weekly or any of those things yet?” Jimmy joked. Lindsay then replied: “I don’t plan on a breakup.”
