The numbers are in! After strong debuts that pushed the reality TV hit past 3 million totally viewers for the past three seasons, The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s ratings saw a major decline for the show’s Season 8 premiere on Nov. 8!
After pulling in whopping 3.8 million viewers for the Season 7 premiere last year, the Season 8 debut drew in close to 1 million less viewers, with a total of 2.968 million tuning in for the show’s first season without NeNe Leakes!
RHOA still landed at the No. 3 spot out of all of the TV shows for the night.
But the ratings weren’t as strong as many expected, especially with the huge shake up to the show's cast that included Shereé Whitfield’s return and the addition of Kim Fields to the show.

The premiere's ugly fight between Whitfield and Kenya Moore also wasn't enough to top the shows record-breaking Season 7 premiere!
Leakes, 47, hasn’t offered any comments on the Season 8 debut as she continues her rehearsals in New York City for her brief stint in Chicago on Broadway.
But many RHOA fans are now curious if the show’s ratings will hold steady, slip or possibly even increase as the new season gets underway! Do you think NeNe’s absence led to the ratings drop? Tweet us @OKMagazine or let us know in the comments section below.
