As Shannon Beador struggles to get herself back in the gym, her husband David can’t get enough of it! The Real Housewives of Orange County star admitted on last night’s episode that her husband has become so obsessed with spending time at the gym that it’s created a “devastating” distance between him and his family. The timing is especially tough for Shannon, who gained 40 pounds over the past year from emotional stress eating after her co-star Vicki Gunvalson falsely accused David of beating Shannon. As RHOC fans know, Shannon and David came close to splitting three years ago when David confessed to having an affair. Could this “devastating” distance be the final straw for their marriage?
“It’s become an obsession with him,” Shannon told her co-star Tamra Judge while out to dinner. “The exercise is David’s number one priority now.”
“It’s taken him away from his family,” Shannon said to the cameras. “Because his exercise schedule is so rigorous now, both the kids and I don’t see him. He works out before work, comes home and eats with us, and then goes and works out until he goes to bed.”
David tried encouraging Shannon to join him at the gym, to no avail. “I still hate it,” she told him. “You gotta flip your mindset to say you don’t hate it,” David said.

When David invited Shannon to participate in a 5-mile obstacle course Spartan Race with him, Shannon scoffed at the idea. “I’m not going to go on a romantic trip with my husband so he can run a Spartan race,” she told Tamra.
Tamra wondered if Shannon’s disinterest was a sign of a bigger problem. “There’s one thing that I don't do: I don’t emasculate my husband in front of other people,” she told the cameras. “It’s kind of degrading him. That’s not a good sign. That’s not a healthy marriage.”
