Rihanna is feeling overwhelmed with joy after her 5th annual Diamond Ball in NYC on September 12. The singer expressed that she was on “cloud 9” and fans think that has something to do with pregnancy!
Rihanna, 31, wore a black Givenchy mermaid gown, white pointed shoes, pearl earrings and a bold red lip to the charity ball.
“I mean I’m really happy right now,” she told People at the event. “The thing that’s making me the happiest tonight is seeing the amount of support, the magnitude of support is really special.”
Rihanna began throwing the gala in honor of the Clara Lionel Foundation, which is named after her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. The funds raise help with global education efforts, health and emergency response programs, and other efforts to support children globally.
“I mean I could be out here and throw a ball by myself and I’d feel good, but the thing that’s making me feel this high of cloud 9 is seeing people who believe in my cause and think it’s something worth donating to, something worth investing in,” she added.
The 2019 Diamond Ball was in honor of American civil rights activist, Shaun King, and Barbados Prime Minister, Mia Mottley.

Fans of Rihanna began to suspect she was on “cloud 9” because she’s pregnant. During the event, she told Essence, “I’m a black woman. I came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman and I’m going to give birth to a black woman.” The rest of her quote discussed how black women are “impeccable” and “special.”
Fans fixated on her sentence about giving birth and speculated she is already pregnant. “I’m I the only one that wonders how she knows she will have a gurl!!!! Hmmmmmm...” one person commented. Another asked, “Is that a hint that a baby is on the way?”
The singer got on stage and performed “Lemon” with Pharrell Williams at Diamond Ball. In a fan captured video, some claim you could see a baby bump. One fan questioned, “Y’all see a bump or I’m tripping?” Another commented, “Fenty maternity coming soon. Forget y’all music.”
Rihanna has been dating Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel since 2017 but the couple has kept their relationship out of the spotlight.
