Scarlett Johansson looked like she was having a ball at the 2018 Met Gala with her handsome boyfriend Colin Jost by her side. So how did she end up in some major controversy regarding the dress that she wore last night?

Turns out her designer of choice was Marchesa, which is run by Harvey Weinstein’s ex-wife Georgina Chapman.

The designer's ensembles haven’t been seen on any major red carpet since Harvey was accused by multiple women of sexual assault and misconduct last year.

Georgina’s brand became embroiled in the controversy surrounding Harvey. Rumors surfaced that he would threaten actresses careers should they refuse to wear his then wife's brand on major red carpets.

This allegedly included Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman as well as Sienna Miller, both of whom wore Marchesa to events like The Golden Globe Awards.

The brand has become disgraced in Hollywood, as a fashion insider revealed that many stars in Hollywood “won’t touch it now”.

No comment yet from Scarlett regarding why she decided to wear the burgundy ombre Marchesa gown last night. The Avengers: Infinity War star has been an outspoken advocate for women’s rights, in particular, the #metoo movement.
