As we prepare for The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s return on Nov. 8, fans of the hit reality show are buzzing over new reports that the show’s cast may experience an additional shakeup halfway through Season 8.
As of now, the show’s cast for Season 8 will feature, Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, Phaedra Parks, Porsha Williams and Kim Fields as full-time housewives. And Shereé Whitfield and Shamea Morton will be rounding out the new lineup of ladies as part-time housewives.
But new reports suggest that halfway through the season, rumored cast members Amiyah Scott and Tammy McCall Browning will also be added to the mix!
The new reports echo what a source revealed to Daily Mail Online about Whitfield’s comeback season on the show. The insider said that Whitfield allegedly made a deal with RHOA executive producer Carlos King to get a full-time slot on RHOA after he sold a reality TV show idea she pitched to him to another network. “He was just trying to do whatever he could to keep her from suing him,” the insider said.
However, the source added that she eventually learned that she had not been given a full-time slot. And the insider claimed that Whitfield will likely only be featured during the first 11 or 12 episodes of the 24 episodes ordered for the new season! “Here she thought she was returning to pick up where NeNe left off as one of the original cast members, but now her episodic run is as limited as Demetria McKinney's was last season,” the insider said. “Shereé didn't get a contract for the show until after she started production on Season 8. She was several weeks into taping when the network presented her a contract for a limited number of episodes, much to her surprise.”
Reports claim that Scott and McCall Browning will then step in as the second round of “friends” to the housewives for the remainder of the season! And with the large number of part-time or supporting cast members filming for the show this season -- including Marlo Hampton, Scott, Morton and Whitfield -- fans have been questioning for months how all of the women would be fit into the full-time cast members' storylines!
It also appears that Whitfield’s filming for the series may have already come to an end as the ladies continue shooting for the new season! “Sheree actually shot her final scenes for the show this past weekend in Washington, DC at the Million Man March with cast members Phaedra Parks, Porsha Williams and Peter Thomas,” the source told Daily Mail Online. “It's the last time viewers will see her on the show and she likely won't be a part of the reunion, just like Demetria wasn’t.” Do you think switching the cast lineup midway through The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s new season is a good idea?
