Selena Gomez set a huge boundary by deleting Instagram from her phone! The Dead Don’t Die star revealed on Live With Kelly and Ryan on June 12 that she got rid of the app for the sake of her mental health. She was once the most followed person on Instagram but has since been surpassed by Ariana Grande and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Selena, 26, arrived to the interview in a bright blue and white midi dress with ruffled sleeves.
Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest asked the “Back To You” singer how much she engages with her 150+ million followers. She told them, “I used to a lot but I think it's become really unhealthy for young people, including myself, to spend all of their time fixating on all of these comments and letting this stuff in.”
She continued, “It was affecting me. It would make me depressed, it would make me feel not good about myself, and look at my body differently."

"I actually don’t have the app on my phone," Selena revealed. "I have it on someone else's phone and when I feel like I wanna share something with my fans, I do it then.”
This isn’t the first time Selena’s slammed social media. In May, during a panel discussion for The Dead Don’t Die at the Cannes Film Festival she called social media “dangerous and devastating.”
In September 2018, she took a long hiatus from Instagram and didn’t return until January. During her time off social media, she entered rehab for two months following an “emotional breakdown.”
