Serena Williams is over-the-moon for her friend Meghan Markle, as the former Suits star gets ready to wed Prince Harry on May 19. The tennis pro said she "couldn't be happier for her" BFF.
"I'm obviously super happy for her," Serena told Entertainment Tonight of Meghan at the at the Being Serena premiere. "She's such a great girl and she is incredibly nice and I couldn't be happier for her."
The unlikely duo have been friends since January 2015, according to ET. Meghan was even there to support her BFF when Serena won the US Open that year.
Meghan once wrote about being close friends with Serena in her now-deleted blog, The Tig. "She quickly became a confidante I would text when I was traveling," she wrote, "the friend I would rally around for her tennis matches, and the down to earth chick I was able to grab lunch with just a couple weeks ago in Toronto."

Harry and Meghan are getting ready for their upcoming nuptials at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Serena also recently got married, to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The two wed in New Orleans at a star-studded bash last November. "He is super supportive and has always here for me," Serena told ET.
