Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta were excited to learn that Shereé Whitfield would be making her return for Season 8 after several seasons away from the series. But a source speaking to the Daily Mail Online has revealed that Whitfield may not be fully pleased with the stipulations of her RHOA comeback!
Ahead of Bravo’s official confirmation that Whitfield had been cast in a part-time role for RHOA’s Season 8, it was thought by many fans that the reality TV vet would likely be returning to fill one of the show’s full-time slots. Nene Leakes’ exit from RHOA over the summer also fueled the talk that Whitfield was a shoo-in for one of the open full-time spots.
However, when the Season 8 cast was revealed in September, Whitfield joined Shamea Morton as the show’s part-time cast members! And Kenya Moore, Kim Fields, Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Porsha Williams and Phaedra Parks were named as the full-time Georgia peaches.
It came as a bit of surprise to many RHOA fans that the outspoken former RHOA star didn’t secure a full-time role. And the source speaking to the Daily Mail Online claimed Whitfield was equally shocked by the decision, especially since she had reportedly been in talks with RHOA executive producer Carlos King about getting a full-time role.

“Here she thought she was returning to pick up where NeNe left off as one of the original cast members, but now her episodic run is as limited as Demetria McKinney's was last season,” the insider said. “Sheree didn't get a contract for the show until after she started production on Season 8. She was several weeks into taping when the network presented her a contract for a limited number of episodes, much to her surprise.”
The source added that Whitfield allegedly made a deal with King to get a full-time slot on RHOA after he sold a reality TV show idea she pitched to him to another network. “He was just trying to do whatever he could to keep her from suing him,” the insider said. The source said King also gave Whitfield a title as co-executive producer on the show, which has since found a home on WE tv and is called Selling It: In the ATL. "With no non-disclosure or partnership agreement in place, she knew she had an uphill battle if she sued Carlos and trusted him again by accepting his offer," the source said.
As we all now know, Whitfield definitley did not get a full-time slot on the show. And the source claims the RHOA star will have a very limited run on the new season, with the insider revealing that she will only be featured in 10 to 12 episodes of the 24 ordered so for Season 8! “Sheree actually shot her final scenes for the show this past weekend in Washington, DC at the Million Man March with cast members Phaedra Parks, Porsha Williams and Peter Thomas,” the source said. “It's the last time viewers will see her on the show and she likely won't be a part of the reunion, just like Demetria wasn’t.” What do you think about Shereé’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 casting drama?
