The Deadliest Catch is facing its worst storm yet—the take down of one its biggest stars, Sig Hansen. In a bombshell lawsuit filed by his daughter, Melissa Eckstrom, the famed boat captain has been accused of molesting the 28-year-old lawyer when she was just two years old. And now, RadarOnline.com has exclusively obtained shocking documents that allege the Discovery Channel star took drastic measures to keep Melissa quiet, even making “attempts at intimidation” and “bullying,” to prevent her from taking her accusations to court.
“Since pursing this matter, I have been threatened and intimidated by my father through his lawyers,” Melissa wrote in a November 2016 filing, claiming that her father’s team “did everything in their power to make the truth go away,” including threats of “millions of dollars worth of damages.”
Melissa also revealed she believed she had “been followed in the proximity of my home,” adding, “My father’s lawyers have threatened not only me, but also other members of my family if we reveal the truth.”
According to Melissa’s attorneys, Sig doesn’t want the truth to get out because he fears “his cable television show, the Deadliest Catch, and his already poorly attended speaking engagements, will be taken off the air or no longer watched or attended.”

But Melissa is pushing forward regardless. “The truth is that Mr. Hansen molested his daughter, Ms. Eckstrom, and now, a licensed attorney, she is fighting back,” the documents allege.
In a statement to Radar, Sig said that he believes the lawsuit “is nothing more than a shakedown. The allegations are completely false, rehashed lies my ex-wife Lisa Eckstrom used nearly 30 years ago to take away my daughter, and has continued to try to use to extort money from me.”
Since the allegations went public, Sig’s future on the show has yet to be called into question. A rep for the show told Fox News, “This does not impact the show.”
