As if Simone Biles didn’t have enough to celebrate. The Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast has added another accomplishment to her staggering resume—becoming a Houston Texans cheerleader!
It all started with a simple tweet on November 27 when the Houston native, who also impressed fans on Dancing with the Stars just earlier this year, gushed about how cool it would be to be a cheerleader.
“Honestly how fun would it be to be an NFL cheerleader,” she wrote. Clearly when you’re Simone Biles, that’s really all it takes, because literally two days after that the Texans Cheerleaders announced on Twitter that she’d be joining them for Sunday’s game. Ah, the power of social media.
In the weeks leading up to the big game, Simone received tons of support from her millions of followers on social media. Even her soon-to-be squad member Taylor Hill was excited about it.

Once the audience saw her step out on the field on the day of the big game, sporting the team’s red costumes complete with red leather boots and sparkly red pom poms, they went wild.
Clearly the moment was a special one for Simone as well as she tweeted right after, “I had such an amazing experience cheering at the Texans Game Definitely a memory to last forever!”
This is the second time Simone showed off her Texas pride in a matter of months, as she volunteered at a local food distribution center and donated clothes during Hurricane Harvey.
