Less than a week after the premiere of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, R. Kelly’s manager is now facing legal consequences. A warrant has been issued for James Mason’s arrest after he allegedly threatened to kill the father of one of the women featured in the series.
Joycelyn Savage’s father Timothy claims the 52-year-old R&B singer is holding his daughter against her will. He also claimed that back in May 2018, James threatened him for speaking out about the situation.
According to an incident report obtained by CNN, Timothy claimed James told him, “I'm gonna do harm to you and your family, when I see you I'm gonna get you, I'm going to f***ing kill you."
After a Magistrate Judge was presented with the case, a warrant was issued in July citing "terroristic threats and acts."

In the Surviving R. Kelly series, Timothy and his wife said they haven’t seen or heard from Joycelyn in two years.
However, in a video released back in 2017, the 23-year-old shot down those claims. "I just want everybody to know — my parents and everybody in the world — that I'm totally fine. I'm happy where I'm at and everything is okay with me," Joycelyn said at the time.
