Nominations for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards have just been announced, but not everyone was in a celebratory mood. Taylor Swift fans believe the singer was purposely snubbed and they wasted no time heading to social media to express their anger. Keep reading to see what they had to say!
The 28-year-old released her sixth album Reputation back in November 2017 and it quickly shot to #1 on the charts. The album spawned six singles and was considered the best-selling album of 2017.
Based on chart performance alone, fans believed Taylor should have led the nominations and they were furious she didn’t receive a single one.
One incensed fan wrote, “Taylor Swift did not release an album that sold 1.2M in its first week, break a 24-hr Vevo record, and reached no.1 for "Look What You Made Me Do" for three weeks to be snubbed like this.”

“Y’all really just snubbed the most successful female artist of this decade?" Someone else asked.
Another fan highlighted the artistry that went into Taylor’s most recent videos. “Taylor Swift did not serve these sickening, stunning visuals and broke several streaming records for it to be snubbed by the @vmas,” the post read.
Even non-fans were up in arms over the slight against the “Delicate” singer. One person wrote, “I’m not a big Taylor Swift, but even I can tell you she was SNUBBED.”
