Throughout five seasons of Teen Mom 2, we’ve seen Leah Messer with two guys, Kailyn Lowry with three (remember Jordan?) and Chelsea Houska with just one. But Jenelle Evans? She takes the cake with a solid five boyfriends over the course of six years. Since Jenelle admitted on the reunion show that she reached out to good ol’ Kieffer Delp while Nathan was in jail this past spring, let’s revisit Jenelle’s mostly toxic, always on-again-off-again BFs to date.
It all began in 2009, when Jenelle got knocked up by Andrew Lewis. He left her shortly after she gave birth to Jace in August of that year, and we haven’t heard from him since, except for that time on Teen Mom 2 when he demanded a paternity test out of nowhere. We’re starting off a high note, clearly.
When Jace was less than a year old, Jenelle met Kieffer Delp at a party. He was homeless with no job and no goals in life, but that didn’t stop Jenelle from falling hard! The pair got arrested for drug possession that same year and Jenelle dumped him in early 2011, but clearly that breakup wasn’t permanent…
Next came Gary Head, whom Jenelle started dating in late 2011, clearly not leaving much recovery time after Kieffer. These two had lots of trust issues, and Gary cheated on Jenelle with her friend Tori while Jenelle was seeing Kieffer on the side. Nonetheless, Gary proposed to Jenelle (in bed, BTW) and bought her a puppy! Not surprisingly, these guys called off their engagement by June of 2012.
Summer of 2012 was a very dark time for Jenelle, but it had nothing to do with her and Gary’s breakup. At this point she was back with Kieffer because she needed support and she felt he was the only one she could turn to. Kieffer was semi-motivated by then, as evidenced through his start-up wooden pipe business, but not even the business could stop Kieffer from getting high and doing heroine. Yes, heroine.
Do you remember the finale of Teen Mom 2 season 4 where you see Kieffer and Jenelle just staring into space, high as a kite? He’s holding pills in this picture, people! It was so sad to watch, but luckily Jenelle finally realized that doing heroine was not okay and that she needed some serious help. She had her mom Barbara pick her up from Kieffer’s place in New Jersey and finally went to rehab.
But clearly that summer of doom didn’t have too much of an effect on Jenelle, because by that October she was already dating Courtland Rogers. They got engaged and were married by December, ultimately leading to their divorce filing in January of 2013. Oh yes, and in between all this Jenelle got pregnant and had a miscarriage, which she took as a sign that Courtland was dunzo. What a festive holiday, season, eh?
So, what’s one to do when you’re dealing with a divorce and miscarriage all at once? Get back together with your ex-fiance, of course. Jenelle and Gary picked things back up in the winter of 2013, but then he cheated on her. The stress got to be too much, so Gary dumped her once and for all. Who even knows what happened to poor puppy Brody?!
Jenelle then spent another month or two seeing Courtland, because why the hell not, you know? Jenelle was mostly sober by this point, but she and Courtland still managed to get in trouble with the law again for another physical altercation and for some drug possession charges. Oh yes, and during this month or so Jenelle got pregnant again, and we later see her abort this pregnancy on the first episode of Teen Mom 2 season 5.
Still recovering from her miscarriage, her abortion, and her divorce filing (wowza), Jenelle decided it would be a good idea to start dating again. She met Nathan Griffith in June 2013 via a dating app and things moved really quickly. Despite heated arguments, they bought a house together in Myrtle Beach two months later and a month after that they were pregnant (on purpose)!
Nathan’s said his military background is to thank for him helping Jenelle stay on the straight and narrow, and now these two have their own little family with Jace and Kaiser. And Jenelle is working towards a degree and she’s sober. That’s HUGE!
Let’s hope Nathan never goes away for a long period of time again because we cannot handle the possibility of Jenelle getting back in touch with Kieffer. Just no.
But let’s not forget that the most important dude in Jenelle’s life is this little guy. Jace has been the only one there for her through all of this, and he deserves nothing more than Nathan as his father figure and Kaiser as his cutie little bro.
Ah yes, and god bless Meme Barbara for like, everything.
