Teen mom dads

As we’ve seen on Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2, being a young father isn’t easy. And while some of the dudes have stepped up to the plate to care for their kiddos (like Gary Shirley), others have been nothing but deadbeat dads since their kids have been born! Here’s the official rankingof the TM baby daddies, from worst to best.

1. Number 7: Andrew Lewis

Number 7: Andrew Lewis. Jace’s dad is the worst baby daddy, mainly because he is an absentee father. Point blank period. We haven’t seen him at all since 16 & Pregnant except for that one time on Teen Mom 2 when he questioned Jenelle Evans on if he was even Jace’s real father. We never thought we'd say this, but thank goodness Jenelle found Nathan Griffin, a father figure for Jace!

Number 6: Adam Lind. Don’t let this adorable pic fool you—Adam is not exactly Dad of the Year. Sure, he’s made an effort to see Aubree and his second daughter, Paislee, but his recent DUIs and arrests need to be held against him here. Plus, according to RadarOnline, Adam’s ex Jessica is now claiming that Adam’s been using steroids! Good thing Chelsea Houska has a new BF now because maybe now she’ll finally be done with this loser for good.

3. Number 5: Ryan Edwards

Number 5: Ryan Edwards. The next three guys on this list were all pretty equal, and there’s a world of difference between number 6 (Adam) and number 5 (Ryan) so it’s not fair that they’re so close together. Ryan Edwards, Maci Bookout’s ex, is really hands-on with Bentley and actually wants to spend time with his son. But Ryan’s not higher on this list because during Teen Mom he was sorta mean to Maci, and that’s not cool.

4. Number 4: Corey Simms

Number 4: Corey Simms. There is nothing sadder than seeing Corey get emotional when he and Leah Calvert watch their daughter Ali struggle with her medical issues. Corey is really great with the girls, but we’re deducting points because of that one time he bought a truck instead of a nicer home for his family. But hey, at least now he cares enough to file for full custody? Maybe?

5. Number 3: Jo Rivera

Number 3: Jo Rivera. Jo is really great with Isaac. Nobody can question that. He and Kailyn Lowry have finally figured out the co-parenting thing and Jo fights to get more time with his son. Isaac’s a lucky little fella that he has a dad and a stepdad, Javi Marroquin, who love him and care so much.

6. Number 2: Tyler Baltierra

Number 2: Tyler Baltierra. Ty and Catelynn Lowell’s decision to place Carly for adoption was probably the best parenting decision any teen parent could make. Now, we’ll finally get to see Tyler in dad mode when he and Cate have their second little girl early next year, which will thankfully be documented on Teen Mom’s new season! Reality TV needs more dudes like you, Ty.

7. Number 1: Gary Shirley

Number 1: Gary Shirley. Did you guess that Gary was our pick for best? He had sole custody of Leah while her mama Amber Portwood was in the slammer and he seems to have done a pretty great job raising her on his own. And now Gary’s expecting his second child—the first with his girlfriend, Kristina—so we'll get to see Gary on good-dad duty all over again.
