'The Hills: New Beginnings' Star Heidi Montag Never Left Her Son's Side 'For Even 5 Seconds' During The First Year Of His Life
Heidi Montag takes her job as a mom VERY seriously. In a new interview, her husband and The Hills: New Beginnings castmate, Spencer Pratt, claimed that she didn’t leave their son Gunner’s side for more than 5 seconds during the first year of his life.
“When we started filming the show, Heidi was a very, veryintense-attachment parent,” Spencer, 35, told Us Weekly. “I’m sure some would say extreme, but to me it was just being a super mom.”
“She had not left Gunner even for five seconds for, like, almost a year to that point,” he continued. “That was a major adjustment and process for her. “
The father of one explained that their upcoming series was an unexpected blessing. He said actually allowed them to grow as parents. “To be honest, if it wasn’t for The Hills, I don’t know if she would have ever left Gunner’s side,” he admitted.

Spencer added, “The show was incredible for … being healthy parents and having boundaries."
Due to their busy filming schedule, Heidi was able to create some necessary distance between herself and her son. “We started with … a 20-minute dinner with FaceTiming, checking in,” her husband recalled. “It was a process.”
Heidi and Spencer welcomed Gunner in October 2017. At the time, they called parenthood "the hardest and most rewarding experience.”
