Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel has announced that he is leaving Bravo's hit reality show. Keep reading to hear what he has to say about his exit and why he chose to take this step.
The Charleston native has been a central figure to the show since its premiere in 2014 where the drama mainly focuses on the custody battle of his two children with ex Kathryn Dennis.
The 56-year-old has also been accused of rape and sexual assault by two women and has since denied any allegations against him. His girlfriend, Ashley Jacobs, has decided not to take sides through the accusations.
Thomas revealed his departure from the series on his Twitter account on Tuesday, August 14 by saying, “I’m not doing the show anymore. In the contract they have the right to fictionalize your story. They took advantage of me. I decided I’ve got too much to lose and informed them I’m not coming back." His account has since become private.

Season six will not see his return as police are investigating the sexual assault claims and he was noticeably absent from the Southern Charm season 5 reunion with host Andy Cohen.
After denying his involvement in any sexual abuse, Haymaker, the production company for the reality show and Bravo released a statement that said, "We take allegations like these very seriously. Haymaker is conducting an investigation, and once all the information is gathered and carefully reviewed, appropriate action will be taken.”
