Say it ain’t so! Tia Mowry set the record straight on the rumored reboots of Sister, Sister and The Game.
“So many people are asking this question. We tried to do it, but some rights and stuff kind of got in the way,” Tia, 41, revealed during an appearance on Tamron Hall’s show.
The Family Reunion actress continued, “It makes me sad and also we even tried to reboot The Game and now that’s not happening. Reboots are just not in my DNA I guess!”
Sister, Sister aired from 1994 to 1999. Tia and twin sister Tamera starred on the show together, which followed twin sisters who were separated at birth and reconnected as teenagers. In July 2019, Tia dished to People about how often she gets asked about a Sister, Sister reboot. However, nothing was in the works at the time.
"I hate to say it but now it's kind of dead...Nothing's going on right now. But that does not mean it's not going to happen at all. Never say never," she confessed. The show was previously slated for a reboot in 2018, but it never came to fruition.

The actresses also expressed interest in a third Twitches film, which followed twin sisters with supernatural powers. “We were even thinking of doing a remake of Twitches... like Twitches 3. Possibly having kids..maybe we have twins who become witches. Something like that," she told People.
Tia told OKMagazine.com exclusively that she and Tamera were pushing for the Sister, Sister project. "My sister and I have tried everything,” she said in January 2019. “I really believe my sister and I will be doing a project together. We just don't know what it is right now or when it will be."
Meanwhile, The Game aired from 2006 to 2015. The drama/comedy followed a group of women who all had relationships with professional football players. Deadline reported in December 2019 that a reboot was in the works for the series, and that the original creator was attached. However, weeks later, the reboot was abandoned in early 2020.
Throughout her career, Tia also starred in Disney Channel movies Twitches, Twitches Too and Seventeen Again along with television shows Girlfriends, Love Inc, Instant Mom and Family Reunion.
