Tisha Campbell and her former costar and on-screen husband Martin Lawrence have buried the hatchet. During the October 10 episode of The Real, the actress spoke candidly about the end of their feud and she explained why the reconciliation came at the best possible time.
Tisha, 50, who has been guest cohosting on The Real, told the other women that Martin, 54, reached out while she was going through her divorce from ex Duane Martin. “I kept my separation a big secret from my family,” she said. “Only two people knew.”
“This is how I knew things were going to be okay: Martin called me the day after I separated to just reconnect,” she recalled.
“So you go through this, what has to be, traumatic experience, the ending of your marriage. Where you know it’s ending, and then you get a call from Martin,” Adrienne Bailon said. “Why was that like a sign to you?”
“Because it’s a healing process,” the mom of two said, “Everything and everybody is just reconnecting and I knew I was in the right place. And I was like ‘God, this is you saying “You’re okay, you’re going to start healing a lot of old wounds or things that were left unsaid."'”

“It became a quest,” she added before explaining that her friends and fellow actresses Tichina Arnold and Regina King supported her through both her reconciliation with Martin and her divorce.
Tisha, Tichina, 50, and Martin all starred in his eponymous show. However, Tisha left the show during its final season in November 1996, and accused the comedian of sexual harassment. According to a 1997 issue of Jet magazine, Tisha accused him of attempting to kiss her with tongue, groping her on set, verbal abuse, and sexual battery. Martin denied the allegations.
In 2018, fans were shocked when photos of Martin with Tisha and Tichina surfaced on social media. In one snap, the women even placed kisses on his cheek.
“I would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall during that conversation between Martin and Tisha Campbell-Martin, ‘cause there’s no way in hell!” one surprised fan wrote on social media.
