Between the Broadway plays, blockbuster films, and shocking nude photo scandals, Vanessa Hudgens is climbing her way to the top in Hollywood! The 27-year-old actress has had years of highs and lows throughout her acting and singing career.
In 2005, Vanessa was offered the lead role as Gabrielle Montez in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical. The film was released in early 2006 and was an instant hit with audiences and Vanessa became a star overnight.
In 2007, she began working on the second film in the HSM series, which was released in September of that year.
Shortly before the release, the squeaky clean Disney Channel queen’s image was being questioned following the release of shocking photos of her posing in lingerie and others naked.
In August of 2009, another set of nude photos of Vanessa was released. And according to Us Weekly, a third set of nude photos was released in 2011.
Despite all of the nude photo scandals, Vanessa was still dating her HSM co-star Zac Efron and after four years together, they called it quits.
She opened up during an interview with the New York Times and revealed that it was tough dating a Hollywood heartthrob and that she was “fed up” with all the “girls running after him.”
In 2012, Vanessa gave a shocking performance in the film, Spring Breakers. The former Disney Channel star admitted to being “most scared” of the “sex scene and nudity issues behind it all.”
Still feuding? During the recent 10-year HSM cast reunion, Vanessa reportedly didn’t allow Zac to attend because her current boyfriend Austin “isn’t cool” with him.
Within the last few years, Vanessa has been shocking her fans and critics taking on some theater roles. In 2015, she had the lead role in Gigi on Broadway.
In January of 2016, Vanessa gave an incredible performance as Rizzo in the highly anticipated Fox TV special Grease:Live.
Hours before her performance, Vanessa announced that she lost her father, Greg Hudgens, to stage 4 cancer.
