Wendy Williams is not letting one mishap live on-air keep her down. The popular talk show host fainted onstage while celebrating Halloween on her show, worrying fans. But now says she is “glad” about the scary ordeal.
“What better place to faint,” she jokingly told People Magazine. While she may be laughing about it now, it certainly was far from funny when it occurred.
While dressed up as the Statue of Liberty, the 53-year-old passed out on-air, and later blamed it on overheating because of her costume, the lights, and heavy makeup.
She later said about the incident, “It was scary. It was really scary.”

There were many who, due to her slurred speech at the time of the ordeal and the way her eyes widened, commented online that they believed she had a heart attack or stroke, but she said, “I had neither. And you know, people were commenting that I reached up for my head, and that was because I promised myself two things. First of all, this is never going to happen again. Second of all, if it’s going to go down, it’s gotta be as cute as I can make it. So I’m going down with the crown.”
She went on to tell People, “I’m glad it happened on air. You know me, let me get a rating out of it!" And she certainly got people to talk.
