“Sadly Zayn and Gigi have separated. They are no longer a couple but they do remain close and are supportive of each other,” an insider told The Sun.
“The reality is that they’ve grown apart, having been together for a long time,” the source revealed. “They have crazy work schedules that would put pressure on any relationship.” Zayn has already unfollowed both Gigi and her mother Yolanda Hadid on Instagram.
Although the insider said “this is definitely the end,” they noted that “this isn’t a bitter split and they both have respect for each other.” “It’s a mutual decision so no one has completely ruled out a reunion in the future, but for now that’s not where their heads are at,” the source explained.

Zayn confirmed the news himself via Twitter, telling fans that the two had "an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship." "I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend. She has such an incredible soul," he wrote.
Shortly after, Gigi confirmed the news as well and told fans she was "forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. "I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for," she wrote. "As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be. xG”
Gigi and Zayn began dating in November 2015, shortly after Zayn called off his engagement to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards and Gigi split from Joe Jonas. Two months later, Gigi appeared in Zayn’s risqué music video for the song “Pillowtalk.”
The couple also starred in a Versace campaign and even posed together for a Vogue cover story. Gigi also supported Zayn throughout his struggles with anxiety, like the time he pulled out of a concert minutes before he was due to go on. “We both feel we can talk about anything and learn a lot from one another,” she said of their relationship.
