Selena Gomez complemented the sexy, slink black dress she wore to Flaunt nagazine’s November Issue party at Hakkasan in Beverly Hills, Calif. with soft, romantic strands crafted by celebrity hairstylist Richard Collins.
“Selena talked about wanting to do a braid so I knew I wanted to compliment the dress with a soft, loose fishtail braid,” says Richard.
To create the look, Richard advises braids work best on second day hair, but has a trick for making it work on freshly-washed tresses as well.
“You can still achieve second day hair by spraying dry shampoo in the roots and spritz all over with some workable hair spray— which is what we did,” he explains.
Richard created soft waves by curling Selena’s hair with a 1 ½-inch curling iron and then loosely pulled her hair back, leaving the front pieces out, and braided to the side.
