Mad Men star Jessica Pare looked every bit as chic as her on-screen alter-ego while hopping into a car to attend AMC's Upfront Presentation in New York City on Thursday.

"The look we wanted to create was something sleek and sophisticated but wearable," says celebrity hair stylist Matthew Monzon. "To complement the Barbara Bui embellished top she was wearing we decided to pull the hair back, giving a refined feeling to the overall look."

• Starting with damp hair, I sprayed Davines MELU Protectant Shield and combed it throughout the hair. I then took Davines More Inside Volume Boosting Mousse and combed that through the hair from root to end.
• I blew the hair dry with a large Mason Pearson for a smooth and shiny finish. The boar bristles on the Mason Pearson really help amp up the shine!
• Once the hair was dry, I put in a strong center part and pulled the hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. I then wrapped the hair around the base of the ponytail and secured with pins.

• I finalized the look with Davines More Inside Strong Hold Hairspray to keep all the hair in place.
