OK! EXCLUSIVE: Malan Breton Takes on Oscar Fashion!
March 8 2010, Published 5:39 a.m. ET
Project Runway alum, designer Malan Breton, has so much enthusiasm for last night' fashions at the 82nd Academy Awards, he had just had to share with OK! readers this morning! Find out who this fierce fashion figure loved, hated and loved to hate on the red carpet!
Darlings! The night began in a sea of pink champagne ad ended in cobalt blue. On the red carpet that is! After 82 years the Academy Awards saw some brilliant fashion, and some… how to put it nicely? Disasters! Actresses graced us with ruffles, pleating and beautiful luminescent fabrics.
OK! NEWS: OSCARS 2010 — A LOOK BACK AT HOLLYWOOD'S BIGGEST NIGHT
Sandra Bullock in Marchesa was a column of sheer beauty.
Zoe Saldana in Givenchy brought us '30s style Technicolor Carmen Miranda glamour! Floral appliques were friend and foe!
Timeless beauty Jennifer Lopez floated in an Armani Privé with a stunning floral bustle. Dare not to pluck Charlize Theron’s flora! You might get more than you bargained for! "T" is for Tacky!
CHECK OUT THESE HITS AND MISSES IN THE GALLERY:
Diane Kruger’s... garment? — left many to question, who and how!? It was as if the Jiffy pop man and the flower lady had a party and she was not invited!
Maggie Gyllenhaal looked beautiful in a cobalt strapless Dries Van Noten! Stand tall, darling, your choice in wearing one of my favorite designers was genius!

The most stunning looks of the night had to be Elizabeth Banks in Atelier Versace and Rachel McAdams, elegant, and timeless chic in Elie Saab!
Sarah Jessica Parker... SJP, oh SJP! You are beautiful, graceful, and daring! Your ode to the sixties was complete with this remarkable Chanel Couture Gown. I simply wish the distracting wisps of hair had been lacquered properly before you walked on stage with the most debonair man in fashion (Tom Ford), other than myself of course, Ha!

Enter Miley Cyrus, in Jenny Packham! Need I say more? She looked like a chic fifties starlet in pink champagne.

Vera Farmiga in Marchesa set the tone for the night, her gown was bright and reminiscent of Hollywood’s glamorous past.
Pleats worked for — and against — some: Kristen Stewart’s vamp glam, Monique L’huillier pleated gown is bound to win this starlet a place on Hollywood’s best dressed list!
OK! LIVE BLOS THE 82ND ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS!
Mo’Nique… Mo’Nique… Mo’Nique! I have never seen a dress make such a beautiful woman look so PLEATED!
It is always exciting as a men’s and women’s wear designer to see the men approach the carpet with such care as the ladies. Gone are the uncoiffed days when men wore whatever they desired. Now with more access to smart designs like Tom Ford, Prada and Dolce & Gabanna you see Hollywood’s male glitterati looking as stylish as the Fred Astaires and Gene Kellys of yesteryear.
Tom Ford, Burberry, and Prada made slick and chic part of men’s wardrobe choices this season.
So from Secretary Chic (Kate Winslet) to Ultra Hollywood glamour (Cameron Diaz), sparkle (Queen Latifah), to pleats (Demi Moore), flora to fauna, the 82nd Academy Awards had something for everyone!
Cheers and congratulations to my friends and colleagues who won last night!
