‘Bachelorette’ Frontrunner Garrett Yrigoyen Slammed For ‘Liking’ Transphobic & Derogatory Social Media Posts

Garrett Yrigoyen went from contestant number one to enemy number one overnight.

The Bachelorette contestant, who won Becca Kufrin’s first impression rose and quickly became the season’s frontrunner, came under fire after Monday’s Bachelorette premiere for allegedly liking offensive social media posts that mocked immigrants, feminists, the trans community, and even a Parkland high school shooting survivor.

Former Bachelor contestant Ashley Spivey put Garrett on blast when she tweeted screenshots of posts liked by the Reno native’s alleged Instagram account, which has since been deleted, from as recent as November 2017.

“A contestant on this season of #thebachelorette liked all of these posts on Instagram and I’m thinking it will be very hard to pull for the type of person likes any of this,” Ashley tweeted before unveiling Garretts alleged Instagram activity.

Amongst the insulting posts was a photo mocking young transgender boys. Another featured photos that made fun of Caitlyn Jenner’s transition. While a third mocked “leftist women,” and their bodies.

While Becca has not commented on Ashley’s tweets, Garrett’s Instagram scandal quickly got the attention of Bachelor Nation, including former Bachelor star, Bekah Martinez.

“Yooo you can say they’re ‘just memes’ but they’re just hateful, ignorant memes. the s**t you like/follow on the internet IS a reflection of your deeper beliefs and values. If he doesn’t find truth in that ugly bulls**T, why would he like/follow those kind of accounts? Don’t @ me,” she tweeted. “He’s cancelled.”

Huffington Post was the first to report on Garret’s alleged Instagram activity.
