Season one of Bringing Up Bates focused a lot on how much difficulty Erin Bates and her husband, Chad Paine, were having in getting pregnant and the fact that they suffered numerous miscarriages. But towards the end of the season the couple went to a specialist who diagnosed the issue as a blood-clotting disorder, which led to her first successful pregnancy!

And now, here we are in season two with Erin about to give birth, but she's still struggling throughout her final trimester. Because of her disorder, Erin has to take heparin shots twice a day to make sure the baby gets the proper blood supply. So, her pregnancy is considered high-risk and is dangerous for both her and the couple's unborn son, Carson. Scary!
