We have all witnessed the troubled past few months Cynthia Bailey and her husband, Peter Thomas, have weathered after their marriage was rocked by Thomas’ cheating video scandal ahead of The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Season 8 premiere. Following the leak of the video, talk began to grow that the two were considering splitting up. And though they’ve addressed the scandal on RHOA and appear to be putting their relationship back together — both on-screen and behind the show’s cameras — divorce rumors continue to follow the duo as they quickly approach their sixth wedding anniversary!

However, during a recent chat with OKMagazine.com, Bailey slammed the divorce talk, revealing that she is still very much committed to her marriage and her hubby, Thomas. Bailey did admit, though, that her relationship with Thomas came to a crossroad during the emotional chat the couple had during an early episode of RHOA’s Season 8.

“That was a conversation that we really needed to have, and I didn't know how it was going to go,” Bailey said. “What you guys saw — I don't know how many minutes you guys saw — but that conversation was about three hours. The other two and a half hours, or whatever you guys missed, was just real conversation between us and what we wanted to do.”

She added that her dedication to trying to make things work with Thomas is rooted in her love for him and not her need to prove anything to anyone.

"We didn't get married in our twenties. I was in my forties. He was in his early fifties. We're not in a situation where we've got anything to prove," she said. "We don't have to be together if it's not going to work. He's doing his thing. I'm doing mine. We can go our separate ways if that's what's going to make us happy.”

As Bailey revealed during her chat with Peter on RHOA, she relocated herself and her daughter, Noelle, to Atlanta, Georgia, for Thomas. And Bailey told OKMagazine.com that she made that decision for a very specific reason.

“I live in Atlanta because I met Peter and I fell in love with him. I was here, right here, in New York City with you, honey, freezing, doing my thing, very successful with my daughter. This was a love choice for me,” she said.

Bailey went on to say that she understands all marriages go through trouble, and she’d be heartbroken if the pressures of reality TV tore herself and Thomas apart.

“I want to try to make my marriage work. I think he really wants to try to do it. And if it just doesn't work, that's okay. But I feel like I'm at a point in my life where I just want to walk away from this, if I end up walking away from this, feeling like I just gave it my all,” she said. “It's so hard being married on television. We always are like, ‘Can we try to keep this about us.’ And if it's just not working, we can be real with that. I really think it would be sad for just the pressure of being on the show and showing our relationship to break us up."
