Paul DelVecchio—aka DJ Pauly D—celebrated his birthday much differently this year compared to in the past. Instead of joining the Jersey Shore crew in Seaside Heights, the MTV reality star hit the DJ booth at HAZE Nightclub at the ARIA in Las Vegas on July 7.

Though Pauly D technically turned 33 the night before, the club presented him with a giant cake in the shape of a sound equalizer, a piece of equipment that lets a DJ change the tone of music.

"He was in a great mood, so many people came over to wish him happy birthday," an eyewitness tells OKMagazine.com. "He was grinning ear to ear and totally surprised when he saw the cake."

Judging from the crowds reaction, Pauly D is just as popular now than when his reality show was still on the air.

"A few girls were literally shrieking and going crazy when he walked in," says the eyewitness, adding Pauly D stayed until around 4 a.m.
