Elizabeth is the name of the current Queen of England as well as the baby’s great-grandmother while Diana is a tribute to William’s mother, the late Princess Diana.
According to Yahoo Parenting, baby name experts Nameberry say Charlotte is an ode to the whole family, too. "Charlotte is the feminine version of Charles, the father of Prince William and is a version of Carole, the name of Kate's mother. Charlotte is also the middle name of Pippa Middleton, Kate's sister."
