John-David Duggar once told his family he would be a “bachelor to the rapture,” because he was convinced he’d never settle down and get married. All that changed, however, when he met Abbie Burnett.
After just two weeks of courting, the second oldest Duggar son decided to introduce his then-girlfriend to the family, and their reaction could not have been more priceless.
“I literally started crying because I was like, ‘You’re kidding me? Is this a joke or is this real?’” his sister Joy-Anna admitted. “I was really shocked.”

John’s twin sister Jana was surprised by the news, too, but she approved of her brother’s romance. “She’s just, I think, perfect for him. I think they really, I don’t know, complete each other,” she said.
As Duggar fans know, John-David and Abbie wed on Nov. 3.
