Surprising Star Went Home on 'DWTS' Last Night and Not From Elimination!
March 27 2013, Published 4:09 a.m. ET
The first Dancing With the Stars contestant of season 16 was sent home last night, but not because of low scores or fans votes. Olympian figure skater, Dorothy Hamill, was deemed safe, but withdrew herself from the competition due to a spinal injury. Dorothy's Partner Tristan MacManus stood by her side while she made the emotional announcement. With Dorothy removing herself from the competition, all other contestants were safe including the bottom two Lisa Vanderpump and Victor Ortiz. We're sad to see Dorothy pack up her dancing shoes so soon—we saw her going far in the competition!
