Gia Giudice has been trying to stay strong for her family ever since Teresa was sentenced to prison for fraud, but the 14-year-old finally broke down when she heard her mother’s voice.
In a preview clip for The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In three-part special, Teresa spoke to her daughter on the phone while she was getting ready for her 8th grade dance.
“Hi Gia! How are you?” Teresa asked her eldest daughter. “I’ve been thinking of you every minute. Every second. I wish I was there with you, but I’m glad daddy is and I’m glad everybody else is. I love you.”
When the RHONJ star heard her daughter crying, she asked if she was near Teresa’s mother and father.
“My mom doesn’t want me or anyone to get emotional in front of her dad because he’s not the healthiest man,” Gia explained in her confessional. "For him to see me upset is hard for him. I try my best to keep it all together.”
