NEWSWatch Danielle Cunningham's '16 and Pregnant' After Show

In last night's 16 and Pregnant episode, Danielle Cunningham became a 16-year-old mother just like her own mother did with her. Even though her mother warned her not to get pregnant at a young age, Danielle and her boyfriend of a few months, Jamie Alderman, gave birth to a baby boy.

Danielle sat down with MTV for the After Show special from her 16 and Pregnant episode and talked about all that she has now learned from her mother, who is now a grandmother at 32.
"I can relate to my mom more than anybody because she went through everything that I'm going through right now. She told me everybody left her when she was pregnant with me. She taught me my whole life not to get pregnant young and then I got pregnant."
"My mom definitely prepared me for what it would be like being a young mother. She told me everything she went through.
"I didn't really think about that and I didn't really care about what she told me because in my mind I thought I would never be like her. I thought I would be a teenager, become 25 and already have a good career going and then become a mother. I didn't think it would be nearly as hard as it actually ended up being."

Danielle also thought she'd "have a little family" with Jamie, but that's not how it worked out.
"We're kind of off and on," she explained. "We're together right now, but that was as of a half an hour ago."
