Welcome Back! Taylor Swift Sings 'Betty' Live For First Time at 2020 ACM Awards

Taylor Swift returned to the ACM Awards on Wednesday, September 16, for the first time in seven years. Swift performed a stripped-down acoustic version of her song 'Betty' at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to PEOPLE, the blonde beauty did her own styling, hair and makeup for the awards show. Swift's appearance was noticeably more laid-back than usual. The pop star was dressed in a burgundy Stella McCartney turtleneck, tan colored long pants and black pumps, while her hair was kept in a neat low bun, and she wore very little makeup.

In August, the 30-year-old debuted 'Betty' on country radio and revealed the true meaning behind the song, which is named after Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' third daughter, Betty, who was born in October 2019.

"James has lost the love of his life basically and doesn't understand how to get it back. I think we all have these situations in our lives where we learn to really, really give a heartfelt apology for the first time," Swift explained. "Everybody makes mistakes, everybody really messes up sometimes and this is a song that I wrote from the perspective of a 17-year-old boy. I've always loved that in music you can kinda slip into different identities and you can sing from other people's perspectives. So that's what I did on this one."

Swift last made an appearance at the ACM Awards in 2015. In 2007, she made her debut at the ACMs when she performed her hit song 'Tim McGraw.'
