FASHION: The words “IM Xerox” on the show notes provided the only cryptic indication of what was to come, but all became clear as models strutted out in crisp white shifts, trench coats and collarless slit-back blazers, the only embellishment being faux collars, buttons and pockets that appeared to be Xeroxed onto the fabric. Clearly in a playful mood, rhinestone necklaces and thick fabric bracelets made for more substitute collars and cuffs. As a reprieve from all that monochromatic Xeroxing, Isaac offered floral prints tempered with a nude chiffon overlay, in keeping with the season’s dominant trend for unexpected transparency. The prettiest pieces were those with real embellishment; silver, sequin-covered dresses and separates giving a welcome nod to classic glamor in an otherwise muted landscape.

BEAUTY: Loose, flyaway mid-crown chignons made Mizrahi’s models appear to be walking off the night before. Pale matte faces were accentuated Picasso style with a strong brow and a bright coral lip.
COLOR/OVERHEARD: Former Mizrahi model Veronica Webb sat front row sporting a chunky necklace crafted from stones taken from Isaac’s own driveway in the Hamptons. Robert Verdi revealed that aside from Carolina Hererra and Diane Von Furstenberg’s shows, his biggest fashion week highlight during this somewhat somber season was somebody spraying chocolate milk all over his office. “I thought, great, how do you get that off everything?” he shrugged. He was, however, excited to see men’s figure skater Johnny Weir sitting front row. Sporting a neon pink blazer, black shades and a fur stole, Robert told OK!, “What I love about Johnny is that he loves fashion. He plays with it. He plays with that intersection of gender. He’s totally a style icon.”
