Estella Warren tried to escape from the police when she was arrested and charged with a DUI after crashing her Prius in May, but after recently striking a deal for no jail time, the Planet of the Apes actress recognized the gravity of the situation in a new statement obtained by OK! and promised to clean up her act.

“I take my actions and their consequences very seriously. I can’t express enough how grateful I am that no one was injured or hurt,” the actress told OK! in a statement on Friday via her rep of the aftermath of her accident.

TMZ reports that Estella, 32, plead guilty to DUI charges this week in court in return for probation, a little more than $1,000 in fines and court-ordered alcohol class.

After lucking out with no time behind bars, the Sports Illustrated model wants to better herself in the future.

“Moving forward I am focusing all my efforts on my career, my family and being a good influence to others,” Estella added.

Estella is currently filming Manson Girls, due out in 2012, alongside Eric Balfour and Tayrn Manning.
