Lara Logan, the CBS correspondent for 60 Minutes who was sexually assaulted in Egypt, is expected to leave a NYC hospital today.

According to USA Today, she will be released from the hospital today after the incident left her separated from her TV crew; the assault reportedly lasted between 20 and 30 minutes.

Call it a twist of fate but the night before the attacks Lara spoke to Esquire's Politics blog and recalled a previous trip that resulted in soldiers taking her team and being ordered to march at gunpoint to their hotel. "We were accused of being more than journalists," she recalled. "Very frightening suggestions were being made, suggestions that could be very dangerous for us."

After being detained by the Egyptian army and interrogated overnight that time, they were asked to leave Egypt. "Arrested, detained, and interrogated. Blindfolded, handcuffed, taken at gunpoint, our driver beaten. It's the regime that arrested us," she said. "They kept us in stress positions — they wouldn't let me put my head down. It was all through the night. We were pretty exhausted."
Considering that horrid story, the brave journalist continued to board the plane back to Egypt for this most recent trip. She told Esquire that a cozy desk job and other luxuries were "not in my lane."
