Arie Luyendyk Jr. didn't get the finale rose on The Bachelorette, but he's not bitter about his experience on the show.

"I’ve been getting recognized and it’s very sweet. Everyone’s been very kind and it’s great to see I have so much support."

The runner-up openly admits he had a hard time ending his relationship with Emily Maynard, but he not only turned to her for help with the situation, but the man she chose to marry as well — Jef Holm.

OK! NEWS: THE BACHELORETTE: DOES EMILY MAYNARD KNOW ABOUT ARIE'S OTHER WOMAN?

"It was very tough to be around people, especially people I loved… my friends, my family. My parents knew, but my siblings didn’t and it was tough to put up that front, to not show everybody how hurt I was. It helped talking to Jef and Emily and that was what got me through. It was tough time, but I feel like in any break up you go through that, and it’s good because it makes you stronger and it really gives you clarity on what you need and what you want out of a relationship. I really feel like now I’m in that place to know more of what I want out of a relationship. I know Emily and I weren’t right for each other and that helped me get through it."

He's still on great terms with Jef and would be up for being involved in their wedding!

"I’d totally be on board for it. I’ve got nothing but love for them. They’re a big part of my life. Jef and I were best friends on the show and we always joked about it, talked about it, so there’s no hard feelings. I really feel happy for them and it’s so heartfelt to know that they’re in a good place."

Although he's ready to date again, Arie hasn't because of his loyality to The Bachelorette.

"I haven’t dated at all actually. I really, out of respect for the show, and obviously the viewers really thought it was Jef or I, so I didn’t want to give anything away for the show. I haven’t been on any dates. I’ve yet to see that impact."

But don't take that to mean he's not looking for Miss Right. He's all abut putting himself out there.

"I know that I’m open and that I’m ready to start dating. You just kind of never know. Whenever it comes to dating, its usually best if it happens and it’s organic and it’s by chance and I really feel like… I don’t know what my future holds but I’m open and ready to start dating."

And as for those rumors about him being the next Bachelor, he's not quuite sure if he'd do it if approached.

"That’s a very tough decision and I really have to put a lot of thought into that. Obviously, months have gone by since the taping, but it is a very emotional journey and it’d be a very tough decision for me, but I would be flattered if they asked."
