'Downton Abbey' Premiere Ratings Doubles PBS Average

If you aren't watching Downton Abbey, you might want to start. The PBS Masterpiece earned huge ratings on Sunday's season two premiere of the hit show.

Reuters reports that Downton Abbey had an average of 4.2 million viewers on Sunday!

PBS says that number not only doubled their primetime average, but it was higher than the average season one numbers by 18 percent.

Downton Abbey officially takes its place among the best of Masterpiece titles since the series began in 1971,” executive producer Rebecca Eaton said of the series. “It’s beautifully done and draws in millions of viewers — what more could we ask for?”
