Aleisha Hunter was only two-years-old when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The brave young girl underwent surgery for a mastectomy to treat her rare, juvenile strain of the horrific disease, making her the world’s youngest survivor of the disease.
Aleisha and her mom, Melanie Hunter stopped by the TODAY show to share her inspiring story.
The disease usually doesn’t affect women until their 20s.
“We were shocked when the diagnosis was made,” said her surgeon, Dr. Nancy Down.
