If you're like us and have trouble finding the perfect temperature to keep you cool on hot summer nights, you must try Sleep Number's True Temp collection!
Sleep Number's exclusive True Temp bedding features 37.5® technology, made from volcanic sand particles that are activated by infrared light given off by your body when you sleep. This technology works to move heat and moisture away from your body when you're hot, which means no more tossing and turning from extreme temps throughout the night — and that includes disagreeing with your partner's choice of freezing fans or overload of heat.
Sleep Number's research shows that 80% of couples sleep too hot or too cold — which is why True Temp is also the perfect solution for anyone who shares a bed with their partner. But, this bedding isn't just meant for the summertime heat; The volcanic sand particles can also hold their energy to help warm you when your body is cold, making it perfect for year-round sleep.
In a nutshell, True Temp is Sleep Number's way of helping you get a deeper, more restful and comfortable sleep, no matter what the night may bring you — and that's why we had to try it out for ourselves to give you the lowdown on whether they're all they're cracked up to be. And spoiler alert, they are.
What are temperature balancing sheets?
Temperature balancing sheets are designed to regulate the body's temperature to prevent one from getting too hot or too cold during the night. Some sheets do just one of these features — either only preventing overheating or only preventing being cold — while some, such as Sleep Number's True Temp, does both. Sheets that focus on keeping you cool tend to be light and airy, maintaining a perfectly balanced weight to remain breathable and stop humidity from building up; Sheets that focus on keeping you warm tend to rest closer to the body to trap more body heat.
Sleep Number's True Temp sheets are 300-thread-count sateen weave — made of a blend of 76% cotton, 22% 37.5® polyester and 2% spandex. True Temp continuously adapts throughout the duration of your sleep to maintain your ideal microclimate. Another perk we experienced while testing out these sheets ourself was their ExactFit™ design. No matter how crazy your dreams get, these sheets move with you and retain their shape for a smooth and comfortable fit.
How does the True Temp blanket work?
The True Temp blanket is made with 37.5® technology, similar to the other True Temp products. This means their blanket continuously adapts to your body's temperature through active-particle technology, which attracts and removes moisture to resist heat and humidity buildup. This keep your body temperature regulated "just right" all throughout the night — take our word for it.
The technology within the blanket also lasts the full life of the product — meaning it won’t wash out or wear out over time. Our favorite part about the True Temp blanket in particular is the fact that we can snuggle up under it all summer long to stay just as cozy as in the colder months, without waking up covered in sweat.
How do you clean Sleep Number True Temp sheets?
The True Temp sheets are machine washable — giving this product an extra bonus point in our books! However, there are a few laundering rules that Sleep Number recommends to keep your sheets looking, feeling and acting good as new.
Washing
Machine wash gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent. Do not use chlorine bleach.
Do not pour detergent directly on sheets and avoid chlorine bleach or detergents with added bleach or whiteners.
Do not use fabric softener, overload washing machine or wash with non-bedding items. Doing so increases friction which can break down fabrics or cause pilling.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat or line dry.
Remove from dryer while slightly damp to prevent wrinkles. Do not use dryer sheets as they may weaken and break down the yarns.
Storage
Store sheets in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Do not store in plastic containers as this may cause fabric to discolor.
