Another great way to get everyone's attention? By making a big declaration on live TV at the VMAs, when the whole world is watching you. Here are a few examples over the years!
Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson "announced" and "proved" their love by kissing awkwardly at the 1994 VMAs, just a few months after their secret marriage.
Lady Gaga announced the name of her new album at the 2010 VMAs. At the podium accepting the award for Video of the Year, wrapped in raw meat, she declared that her new album would be called "Born This Way," then sang a bit of the chorus of her single, which wouldn't be released until February 2011.
Ke$ha announced her new single, "Die Young," while debuting a new posh look at the 2012 VMAs.

Another biggie from last year? Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose announced they were expecting a baby when Amber showed up looking mighty prego on the red carpet.
But of course, the most major pregnancy announcement and definitely the most exciting moment of any VMAs of the last decade was Beyonce's. Her belly rub during a performance of "Love on Top" at the 2011 show set a record for most tweeted moment in history. Who holds the record now, two years later? Beyonce, for the her Super Bowl performance. All hail Queen Bey.
