Deadline reports that ABC has decided to cut the third season of Scandal from 22 episodes down to just 18. It doesn't seem like a big deal until you imagine one fewer month of Olivia Pope in your life this year! The show is hardly suffering in the ratings, however—in fact, it's never been hotter. So why kill a few weeks?

Um, why don't you ask Kerry Washington's belly? Though the actress is still staying mum about her pregnancy, Deadline suggests that it's the reason they have to cut the season down. It's hard to hide that belly in stylish coats all the time. This move also suggests the pregnancy will not be written into the show, so no Olitz babies... yet!
