Is it 2008? Because we're having flashbacks to 2008. People is reporting that Amanda Bynes' mom, Lynn Bynes, has just been granted legal control over her daughter. Which is exactly what happened in 2008 with Britney Spears and her parents when Brit was crazy and shaved her head and threw an umbrella at the paparazzi.

Anyway, Amanda has been hospitalized for 17 days, and now she is, by doctor's orders, under psychiatric hold for the next 30. While still under her doctor's care, Lynn will have control of her daughter's finances and have the right to make all decisions such as how she'll spend her money, where she'll sleep, and essentially what she'll eat from now until September 30. Amanda's lawyer commented that her client does "oppose and object to the conservatorship. She doesn't feel there's a need". But clearly this seems like the right decision for the time being.
