Bandleader Kevin Eubanks Leaves 'The Tonight Show'

Jay Leno's longtime bandleader and sidekick, Kevin Eubanks, is leaving The Tonight Show, Extra confirms.

Kevin "wanted a change" and decided to leave the show to pursue other opportunities, a source told Extra. Another source said Kevin will appear on the debut of the new Tonight Show on March 1.
Darius Rucker, Hootie and the Blowfish front man-turned-country star, is a rumored replacement.

Kevin joined The Tonight Show in 1992 and became the bandleader two years later.
He was also the bandleader on The Jay Leno Show.
