When rumors first surfaced that Britney Spears would be a judge on The X Factor, it was thought that she was too sweet to really give contestants honest feedback.
But the 30-year-old pop princess opened up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing today, that she is actually just as tough as fellow judge Simon Cowell, who is known for his mean and caustic comments.
"I used constructive criticism. I learned from the best," Brit Brit said, looking stunning in a fitted red dress.
"I prefer to be honest. I think that's the best way to go. I wouldn't want to be told something and then waste seven years of my life. I feel like it's the thing to do."
The 52-year-old British mogul, who was appearing with her, interjected to reveal that Britney was swift and ruthless with her judgements and didn't flip-flop on her decisions, which he was very impressed with.

"I'm not disagreeing with you. I've been doing it for years," Simon told the blonde bombshell. "I've never heard someone say 'no' to contestants so quickly in my entire life."
But Britney, who is engaged to Jason Trawick, did have a shaky start and infamously walked off the set during one of her first auditions. But she soon got into a groove, and her confidence increased.

"I was really nervous," she admitted. "You have all these people behind you, and you know they're rooting you on. It's a really exciting, electrifying thing to do."

Simon, Britney and fekkow judges Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid will be immortalizing their handprints at Grauman's Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard today at 6 p.m. PT, with fans invited to watch the ceremony.
The X Factor premieres its second season on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
