Ruh roh. Charlie Hunnam, who was set to play the coveted role of Christian Grey in the upcoming movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, has dropped out of the project shortly before filming began. What happened?
A statement from the studios behind the film said, "The filmmakers of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.” Hmm.
Production schedules are definitely tough, but doesn't it seem like arrangements would have been made before Charlie signed on for such a giant franchise? Like maybe Charlie would have checked his calendar for his role on Sons of Anarchy beforehand? His work was scheduled to begin next month, and the movie is out in less than a year, so here's hoping we have a new casting for Christian soon!
Why do you think Charlie dropped out of the film? Whom do you think the new Christian should be? Did you read the Fifty Shades books? Tell us in the comments below or tweet us @OKMagazine.
